The company, which has been gaining traction among major financial institutions, is introducing Norm Law, an AI-native law firm designed to focus initially on clients in financial services.

The latest funding round totals $50m, coming from Blackstone through Blackstone Innovations Investments and funds affiliated with Blackstone Growth. The new capital strengthens an already active partnership between the two organisations.

Norm Ai builds AI-powered tools for in-house legal and compliance teams, offering a platform that supports regulated content review and automated workflow execution. Its technology is already used by global banks, hedge funds, insurers and other major asset managers to streamline complex processes, with the company positioning itself at the forefront of AI adoption in legal services.

With the new financing, the company plans to accelerate growth across both its core Legal & Compliance platform and its newly established Norm Law entity. The launch of Norm Law reflects a significant expansion in the firm’s ambitions, aiming to bring AI-enabled legal services directly to market. The new practice is supported by Norm Ai’s proprietary Legal Engineering framework, which blends a no-code AI platform with a team of more than 35 lawyers trained as Legal Engineers. These specialists transform legal workflows into AI agents driven by large language models.

Norm Ai said the law firm will operate out of New York, using a structured process that “tailors and supervises” AI agents in real-world scenarios. According to the company, this approach is designed to support collaboration between attorneys and automated systems, improving accuracy, speed and reliability.

Blackstone Chief Legal Officer John Finley said, “Blackstone is looking forward to deepening its strong relationship with Norm Ai by collaborating to shape and develop Norm Law services that Blackstone could use. The implementation of Norm Ai within Blackstone’s in-house Legal & Compliance group has been highly impactful, and we’re excited to see the same innovation brought to legal services through Norm Law.”

Norm Ai founder and CEO John Nay said, “To truly transform the delivery of legal services, lawyers and AI need to be fully integrated from the ground-up and from day-one. Norm Law is uniquely positioned at the intersection of AI and trusted expert attorneys. We believe this technology platform and people approach will revolutionize premium legal services, delivering more efficient and effective outcomes for the world’s most sophisticated institutions.”
