Mitigata secures $15m to scale India's cyber defence

Mitigata, India’s AI-native cyber resilience platform, has closed a $15m Series B funding round to scale its security infrastructure and expand internationally.

The round was led by Bessemer Venture Partners, with existing backers Nexus Venture Partners, Titan Capital and WEH Ventures also participating. The capital will be deployed to grow headcount across AI, R&D, product, engineering and customer success, with the company targeting a doubling of its team. Proceeds will also be used to expand Mitigata’s Security Operations Centre, with ambitions to make it the largest in India.

Mitigata was founded in 2023 by Mohit Anand, Sarthak Dubey, Mayank Morya and Akshit Kaushik, on the premise that cybersecurity must go beyond prevention alone. The company’s platform operates around the principle of Insure. Detect. Defend. Recover., guiding organisations through risk assessment and transfer via cyber insurance, AI-powered threat identification, compliance automation, and breach recovery through digital forensics and incident response services.

The company has reported more than 12x year-on-year growth and currently serves over 800 organisations spanning sectors including BFSI, healthcare, manufacturing, automotive, technology, retail and e-commerce. In recent months, Mitigata has triaged more than one million security incidents through its AI-powered Security Operations Centre. A key differentiator from traditional cybersecurity vendors is its direct participation in the financial consequences of cyber risk, combining security telemetry, risk intelligence and insurance data to help organisations reduce both cyber exposure and financial loss.

Mitigata co-founder and CEO Mohit Anand said, “When we started Mitigata, we weren’t trying to build another cybersecurity company. We believed enterprises needed a different operating model — one that brings security operations, cyber risk intelligence, response and insurance together on a single AI-native platform.

“Cybersecurity is entering an AI-first era, and resilience will become one of the defining capabilities of the modern enterprise. As AI becomes increasingly embedded into economies and critical infrastructure, security stops being just an IT problem. It becomes a question of trust, continuity and, increasingly, national security. We believe India has a unique opportunity to build world-class cyber resilience infrastructure from India, for the world. This funding allows us to accelerate that vision.”

Bessemer Venture Partners partner Pankaj Mitra said, “The accelerating number of AI-driven malicious attacks, combined with a severe shortage of cybersecurity talent, has resulted in a perfect storm for Indian enterprises. Mohit, Sarthak, Mayank and Akshit have built a timely AI-native resilience platform that services enterprises across their cybersecurity journey — from assessing risks to procuring cyber insurance, deploying best-in-class tools and fully managing security outcomes.”
