Sumsub, Orochi target Vietnam’s new digital asset rules

Sumsub

Sumsub and Orochi Network have entered a strategic partnership aimed at helping Web3 and digital-asset businesses across Southeast Asia prepare for compliance as Vietnam rolls out its new licensing framework for crypto assets.

The tie-up comes as Vietnam, one of the world’s most active retail crypto markets, shifts away from regulatory uncertainty towards a formal licensing regime. As the sector matures, businesses are increasingly seeking infrastructure that can support both regulatory compliance and continued innovation.

Orochi Network, which serves as an official advisor to the city of Da Nang on its international financial centre initiative and related technology solutions, occupies a position linking Web3 developers with policymakers.

Under the partnership, its ecosystem will gain access to Sumsub’s AI-powered trust infrastructure, which brings together identity and business verification, fraud prevention, ongoing monitoring, risk management and Travel Rule compliance within a single platform.

Sumsub’s technology spans more than 220 countries and territories and adjusts continuously to shifting regulatory demands, allowing businesses to expand securely across different jurisdictions.

The collaboration pairs Sumsub’s compliance infrastructure with Orochi’s verifiable data layer, merging verification capabilities with privacy-preserving technology suited to regulated markets.

Sumsub brings its verification and compliance engine, including what it describes as the industry’s largest Travel Rule directory, covering more than 2,100 virtual asset service providers. Orochi contributes zkDatabase, a verifiable database capable of cryptographically proving data is accurate without revealing the underlying information itself.

In the initial phase, the partnership will concentrate on go-to-market support for projects seeking licensing in Vietnam, together with regional education efforts around regulatory readiness. From there, the two companies plan to pursue deeper technical integration between Sumsub’s verification processes and Orochi’s privacy-preserving data layer, with the aim of making compliance both auditable and secure for businesses moving into regulated markets.

Orochi Network CEO Mary Tran said, “Compliance and privacy have too often been treated as a trade-off. They shouldn’t be. Sumsub is the global benchmark for verification, and Southeast Asia is opening up under real regulatory frameworks. Together we give builders here a credible path into licensed markets with cryptographic proof behind it.”

Sumsub Vice President, APAC Penny Chai said, “Vietnam is entering a pivotal phase as it formalizes its approach to digital asset regulation, and businesses need a trusted compliance infrastructure that can keep pace with both local requirements and global standards.

“Through our partnership with Orochi Network, we are combining AI-powered verification and compliance capabilities with privacy-preserving data innovation, enabling companies to scale confidently while meeting regulatory expectations across Southeast Asia and beyond.”
