Allica Bank has teamed up with Adclear to place its financial promotion rules, product disclaimers and sign-off policies under a single, centrally managed framework, pairing AI-driven compliance reviews with tailored staff training.
Central to the collaboration is a method Adclear describes as “compliance engineering”. The idea is to capture the regulatory expertise held within a firm and embed it directly into the tools and processes employees rely on day to day. For Allica, the aim is to help its marketing function clear approvals more quickly and with greater assurance.
The move follows a period of rapid expansion in Allica’s marketing department. Its rules around promotions, disclaimers and approvals had originally been built for a far smaller operation.
Meanwhile, the marketing, legal, compliance and product functions had largely operated independently of one another. Critical know-how was scattered across files, spreadsheets and the memories of individual staff. With limited resources across departments and no authoritative reference point, consolidating that expertise became a pressing need.
To address this, Adclear collaborated with the bank’s legal and compliance specialists to merge its policies, disclaimers and promotion rules into one hub. Staff now share a common base when drafting material, verifying requirements and deciding whether content can go live.
This consolidated policy layer underpins a new AI-assisted approvals process. Allica has embedded Adclear’s automated financial promotion checks within its marketing workflow, shortening review cycles and giving compliance staff a consistent, traceable record for every published asset.
Both marketers and compliance professionals can draw on identical requirements, with full visibility of how each item was assessed.
Adclear has also introduced customised compliance training for Allica’s marketers. The sessions use the bank’s own products, claims and historic approval decisions to link regulatory obligations with everyday content creation. Participants learn to distinguish lower-risk material they can sign off themselves from content that warrants a second review.
Adclear provides AI-powered financial promotions compliance technology and counts Monzo, Lloyds Banking Group, PensionBee and IG Group among its financial services clients. Allica Bank now joins that roster.
Allica Bank head of marketing Georgie Burks said, “As we’ve scaled, our compliance knowledge has ended up living in different places – some in documents, some in spreadsheets, a lot of it just in people’s heads.
Adclear helped us bring all of that together into one place we can actually trust, and then used it to train our marketing team. We are now working from a much stronger foundation, and are already seeing Adclear’s AI layer transforming how quickly and confidently we can move on marketing approvals and compliance.”
Adclear co-founder Joe Jordan said, “The initiatives we’re running with Allica reflect a shift we’re driving across the sector: turning compliance from a manual, case-by-case check, to a body of encoded policy that both AI and humans can work from.
“We call this “compliance engineering”. Rather than every promotion depending on a reviewer’s individual interpretation of the rules, firms can encode that knowledge once, so it can govern thousands of future decisions.
“This model turns compliance into a growth engine. The same regulatory knowledge that used to slow marketing down can now be built into systems that enable teams to move faster and more confidently.
“It’s been a pleasure to work with Allica to transform their marketing compliance capabilities from the ground up: laying the foundations, building the team’s skills, and deploying our technology for faster, safer and more reliable checks.”
