CMC Markets halves regulatory monitoring time with CUBE

As regulatory complexity deepens across global markets, firms still relying on manual horizon scanning are facing a growing operational risk.

A new case study from RegTech firm CUBE shows how online trading provider CMC Markets cut the time spent on regulatory monitoring by 50% after replacing its manual processes with CUBE’s Intel platform.

According to CUBE, CMC Markets became a customer in 2025 and has since rolled out Intel across its offices worldwide. The move has given its compliance function an automated, repeatable process that can be evidenced to regulators and auditors, an increasingly important capability as supervisory scrutiny of compliance frameworks intensifies.

The challenge stemmed from CMC Markets’ international growth. As the firm expanded into more jurisdictions, its compliance team faced a mounting volume of regulatory developments to track. CUBE notes that horizon scanning at the firm was largely manual, placing a significant burden on staff and making it difficult to monitor regulatory change at scale. For a business operating across multiple markets, gaps in visibility can quickly translate into compliance exposure.

After a competitive evaluation of providers, CMC Markets selected CUBE and implemented a global licence for Intel. The deployment gave teams across the firm’s global footprint a single, centralised approach to regulatory intelligence and horizon scanning, replacing fragmented manual efforts with a consistent framework.

The results, as outlined by CUBE, have been substantial. A single licence now covers 49 issuing bodies, while tailored updates have improved visibility of regulatory developments across the business. Adoption among compliance teams has been strong, and the firm now spends half as much time on regulatory monitoring as it did before. Crucially, the new process is clear and repeatable, allowing CMC Markets to demonstrate its approach to oversight bodies with confidence.

CMC Markets head of anti-financial crime Europe & MLRO & deputy head of compliance Europe Claudia Martini said, “The implementation of Intel has enabled us to modernise our approach to regulatory change management. The platform has been well adopted by our teams and provides a valuable source of regulatory insight across our global operations.”

According to CUBE, CMC Markets chose its platform for its comprehensive regulatory intelligence capabilities, broad global coverage and its ability to support a growing international compliance function through a scalable, technology-driven model.
