The first half of 2026 has been a busy one for RegTech. New technologies have continued to arrive, regulation has kept moving, and financial institutions have had to work out how much of either they can realistically absorb.
But amid the announcements, launches and predictions, some developments have begun to stand out from the rest.
The past six months have offered a useful snapshot of where compliance technology is heading, from the tools firms are adopting to the problems they are trying to solve, and the expectations being placed on the technology along the way.
