KYCP moves to fix broken onboarding with COT 2.1.6

Client onboarding remains one of the most persistent pain points in RegTech, with clunky interfaces and confusing workflows costing firms both time and completed applications.

KYCP is aiming to change that with the release of version 2.1.6 of its Customer Outreach Tool (COT), a major overhaul designed to make onboarding complex structures more flexible and intuitive for administrators and end users alike.

At the heart of the KYCP release is a new stepped design for building complex structures. Users can now switch from the standard list approach to visual company structure charts, defining an entire hierarchy in minutes. The tool guides users on which related parties can be attached to which parent entity, based on logic configured through KYCP’s no-code interface, cutting errors and pushing towards right-first-time applications.

Flexibility has also been extended to application creation. Previously restricted to displaying the programme name configured within KYCP, COT now includes a new Application Creation View. Administrators can set custom display names, point multiple names at the same programme, and configure an HTML-formatted creation message to surface prerequisites or guidance before users begin.

Simplicity is a recurring theme. Where an onboarding process involves only a single entity, COT now detects this automatically and routes users straight to the Edit Entity screen, hiding the Structure menu and disabling irrelevant actions.

Meanwhile, new Alternate COT Status Names let administrators translate internal workflow jargon into user-friendly labels, so a status such as Incomplete can appear as Mandatory Fields Missing, without touching the underlying KYCP status or existing integrations.

The application interface itself has been redesigned around clearly defined sections rather than long field lists. Each section now carries its own completion indicator, flagging whether it is not started, missing mandatory fields, or completed, with the same visibility extended to Documents and Questionnaires. Administrators can also break lengthy sections into smaller Steps, configured in KYCP via the Divider Step field type, while an overall percentage completion indicator shows users how close they are to submission.
