RMSG and Bretton AI unite to fix compliance strain

Risk Management Solutions Group has entered a strategic partnership with Bretton AI to help financial institutions modernise their risk and compliance operations.

The alliance pairs RMSG’s regulatory and risk advisory capabilities with Bretton AI’s purpose-built automation technology, giving institutions a way to strengthen their risk programmes, boost operational efficiency and satisfy supervisory expectations with greater assurance. RMSG will connect its clients to a platform capable of putting into practice the programmes the firm helps to design.

The tie-up responds to mounting pressure on compliance functions. Regulatory demands keep shifting, transaction volumes keep climbing, and banks are expected to absorb every new obligation with static headcount. Many of the programmes tasked with managing these duties, the firms argue, were constructed for an earlier era.

The two businesses bring complementary strengths. RMSG supports institutions through advisory work, remediation and programme transformation, drawing on decades spent on both sides of the examination table. Bretton AI automates functions such as anti-money laundering (AML), transaction monitoring and enhanced due diligence (EDD), with every decision documented, traceable and built to withstand regulatory scrutiny.

The operational impact is significant. Institutions running Bretton AI’s platform have cut EDD case handling times by more than 80%, while some have reduced transaction monitoring triage from over 30 minutes to under five. Human professionals retain ownership of policy calls, risk assessments and final outcomes, but the manual burden shrinks dramatically, allowing programmes to expand without proportional hiring.

Defensibility sits at the heart of the arrangement. Bretton AI’s Trust Infrastructure encompasses model risk management controls, continuous AI evaluation and quality assurance testing, designed for institutions supervised by the OCC, FDIC and Federal Reserve. RMSG’s team, meanwhile, has firsthand experience enforcing those very standards.

RMSG managing director Jeffrey Bowling said, “At RMSG, our priority has always been helping clients build sustainable, regulator-ready risk and compliance programs. Bretton AI extends that value by enabling institutions to execute those programs more efficiently and at greater scale. This partnership reflects a shared commitment to combining deep industry expertise with innovative technology to help clients meet today’s challenges while preparing for tomorrow’s regulatory expectations.”

Bretton AI co-founder and CEO Will Lawrence said, “The promise of agentic AI is realized when deep industry expertise meets purpose-built technology. RMSG’s team has enforced the standards our agents are designed to meet, which is exactly why this partnership is such a natural fit.”
