Greenboard bets AI harnesses will replace compliance tools

Greenboard, an AI-native system of action for SEC and FINRA compliance, has introduced GreenboardGo2.0, which it describes as the first AI harness designed for compliance teams. The company is positioning it as a challenge to conventional compliance software.

The release extends GreenboardGo, the conversational AI layer the company rolled out in May. The new version operates across the full Greenboard platform. Compliance teams can query, configure and automate any element of their programme from a single interface, and each action is logged to a WORM-based record that meets 17a-4 requirements.

The harness can also be used inside Slack, Teams, Claude and ChatGPT, where more than 240 Greenboard tools are accessible via MCP. All activity stays within permissions defined by the compliance team, and a human must approve any output before it becomes final.

Greenboard argues that a foundation model cannot handle compliance on its own, because the work requires access to the correct policy, record, tool and individual at the appropriate moment. In its view, a harness provides those connections together with firm-specific context, guardrails and an audit trail that examiners can trace.

Where legacy platforms offer a predetermined set of features, GreenboardGo2.0 lets teams assemble their own agents by choosing triggers, context, action sequences and the precise stage at which a person gives approval.

Alongside the launch, Greenboard has released a fiduciary commitment based on six principles: loyalty, care, candour, supervision, agency and continuity. Under this pledge, GreenboardGo acts solely for the firm deploying it, Greenboard will not sell firm data, and firms can take their data with them on request. The underlying platform supported 750 regulated firms and 35,000 users in the most recent quarter. Its coverage spans archiving and AI-native supervision of email, social media and text messages; employee compliance, such as attestations, pre-clearance and trade monitoring; marketing review; firm compliance and filings; and third-party due diligence.

Since every module shares one record, the harness can operate across all of them. It can adjust workflows, forms, rules and settings, produce reports covering the entire programme, and automate any process a team can create within Greenboard, while respecting the firm’s permission structure.

Greenboard founder and CEO Dave Feldman said, “GreenboardGo is a new category of product, and is effectively what we have been building towards since we started the business. I expect by 2030 AI harnesses will totally replace all other compliance software, and we’re the first to bring this to market.”

Greenboard co-founder and CTO Ed Schembor added, “Harnesses turn AI models into step-change productivity gains in real-world work. Software engineers and lawyers already know this. With GreenboardGo2.0, the compliance profession will too.”
