US cemented its place as the main global RegTech hub attracting seven of the top 10 deals in Q2

Top global RegTech deals Q2 2026

Key Global RegTech investment stats in Q2 2026:

  • Global RegTech funding dropped 38% YoY in Q2
  • US companies secured seven of the top 10 deals to cement the country’s position as the global RegTech hub
  • Taktile, an AI transformation platform helping banks and insurers build and operate autonomous agent-driven decisions within regulated environments, raised $110m in a Series C round, making it one of the top RegTech deals of the second quarter

Global RegTech funding dropped 38% YoY in Q2

Global RegTech investment in Q2 2026 reached $734.8m across 108 deals, representing a 38% decline in funding compared to the $1.2bn raised across 124 deals in Q2 2025.

Deal volume also fell, dropping by 13% year-on-year, with both metrics moving in the same direction and pointing to a broad-based contraction in activity across the sector.

The average deal value slipped to $6.8m in Q2 2026, down from $9.6m in Q2 2025, suggesting that not only are fewer deals being completed, but the transactions that are getting done are smaller in scale.

The combination of declining funding, reduced deal count and a compression in average deal size paints a challenging picture for the sector, with investor appetite appearing to soften across the board rather than simply rotating towards a more selective set of opportunities.

US companies secured seven of the top 10 deals to cement the country’s position as the global RegTech hub

The country-level breakdown of the top 10 deals in Q2 2026 shows the US consolidating its position further compared to Q2 2025, accounting for seven of the 10 largest transactions, up from six in the prior period.

That incremental gain reflects a continued gravitational pull towards the US market at the upper end of the funding spectrum, even as overall investment levels decline.

India, Denmark and Belgium were all new entrants in Q2 2026, each securing one top deal, marking the first appearance of these markets among the sector’s largest transactions in the comparable periods.

In contrast, UK, Israel, Germany and France, each of which featured in the Q2 2025 top 10, were entirely absent from Q2 2026, representing a significant reshaping of the non-US contingent within the rankings.

The departure of four established European and Middle Eastern markets in a single period, replaced by a more eclectic mix of new entrants, suggests that the geography of large RegTech deals is in a state of flux, even as the US maintains a firm grip on the top of the table.

Taktile, an AI transformation platform helping banks and insurers build and operate autonomous agent-driven decisions within regulated environments, raised $110m in a Series C round, making it one of the top RegTech deals of the second quarter

The round was led by Growth Equity at Goldman Sachs Alternatives, with participation from Balderton Capital, Index Ventures, Tiger Global, Y Combinator and Dig Ventures.

The platform automates high-stakes compliance and risk workflows including KYC and AML processes, insurance claims assessment and financial crime detection.

It does so within a governance framework that business leaders across credit, fraud and underwriting functions can manage directly.

Financial institutions spend an average of $72.9m per year on KYC and AML processes alone.

Taktile’s clients are already reporting tangible results, including a 75% reduction in AML false positives for customers such as Mercury, Monzo and Pleo, and anticipated savings exceeding $90m in claims processing for one of the world’s largest insurers.

Proceeds will fund enhanced AI capabilities and expansion across the US, EMEA and LatAm.
